Percent Fixed: lock a share of what you actually use
Instead of a fixed block, you lock a percentage of your real usage, for example 75%. That share follows your load up and down. The remaining share floats at the market price. Many contracts let you lock more later if the market looks good.
How it works
Locked share (e.g. 75%)The rest, at marketYour usage
As usage rises and falls, the locked 75% moves with it. Only the top slice rides the market. Illustrative.
Who it fits
- Loads that swing by shift, season or weather
- Buyers who want to lock in steps over time
- Sites that don't want to guess a block size
The trade-off
More control and more decisions. You choose how much to lock and when, and we help you time it.
Common questions
Why not just lock 100%?
You can, but leaving a share open lets you take advantage of lower prices and add more later.
Who decides when to lock more?
You do. We watch the market and tell you when it's worth a look.
