Illustrative shapes. Actual peak days are only known after the fact, which is why alerts matter.
Two sites can use the same amount of power and pay very different delivery charges. The difference is often the peaks: your highest demand in a month, and your usage during the grid's biggest moments each summer.
A heads-up the day before
We help you understand how your peaks are priced, alert you when they matter, and enroll you in programs that pay you to reduce load when the grid needs it.
- 4CP peak-day alerts every summer
- A peak demand review of your interval data
- Enrollment help for load reduction programs
- A season-end review and updated plan
Get paid to reduce load when the grid is stressed
Sites that can cut back for a short window earn bill credits. Notice usually comes the day before, and events are typically short. The program we offer has no penalty if you sit an event out.
These programs usually require a market-based contract structure. Running a large site? See our large energy users page for 4CP visuals, growth planning and more.
Who it fits
- Industrial and large commercial sites with demand charges
- Sites with equipment that can pause briefly, like HVAC or chillers
- Facilities with backup generation
- Large energy users exposed to transmission (4CP) charges
What is 4CP?
For larger sites, a big part of next year's transmission charges is set by your usage during the four highest 15-minute grid peaks of the summer, one each in June through September. Reduce during those windows and you pay less all next year.
Will a load reduction program shut down my production?
No. We only recommend reducing non-process load, like HVAC, chillers, cleanroom air handling or switching to backup generation. Never production lines.
What if I can't reduce during an event?
The program we offer has no penalty if you sit an event out.
Do I need a special contract?
These programs usually require a market-based structure. We'll tell you if your current contract works.
